Junior Dolphin Blue
Learning swimming fundamentals and competitive skills in a fun, supportive team environment.

Program Overview
Our entry level novice group - the Junior Dolphins Blue program is a great place for young swimmers to learn swimming and get introduced to competitive strokes starting with coordination, body awareness, the four swim strokes, and other basic competitive skills. A fun team environment with no emphasis placed on performance! We emphasize the social aspect of swimming with games and teamwork activities. Junior Dolphins Blue experience racing at intraclub ’Mini Meets’ where they get to know each other and the older swimmers in the club. This is a great time for them to discover the joys of swimming while being involved in an organized sport.

“When our kids joined the Winskill Dolphins they were very young and we never could have imagined the incredible journey that lay ahead. Swimming helps them to develop not only strong swimming skills but also confidence, discipline, and a genuine love for the sport. Not to mention the team aspect that we never expected. Over the years, swimming has played a central role in their growth as athletes and as people. What began as a fun childhood activity evolved into a passion that has taken them to the highest levels of competitive swimming and thanks to swimming they have had the privilege of travelling the world to train and compete, proudly representing Canada. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunities, friendships, and life lessons our children have gained through their involvement with WDSC .”

Devon Dupuis
Assistant Coach & AGG, AGB and JDB Coach

Whether a swimmer is learning a new skill, achieving a personal best time, finishing a tough set, or simply having an awesome practice, he will be there to help and cheer them on. Most importantly, he wants the team to work hard, have fun, and create great memories together.

Zeina Khalifa
JDB Coach
Zeina is excited to coach Junior Dolphins Blue this year. Outside of the club, she is a first-year undergraduate student at UBC studying Pharmaceutical Science. This season marks her fifth year coaching for the Dolphins. She has been a member of the club for nine years, spending seven of those years as a competitive swimmer.
Coaching JDB, Zeina's main priority is ensuring her swimmers are excited to come to practice. She also aims to teach them to be patient and kind with themselves while mastering their technique. For Zeina, the most rewarding part of coaching young kids is watching their confidence grow each time they hit a new milestone in their technique and strokes.
